Hardcore Punk band, The Vampirates have been going strong
since they formed in
Ashland in 2003. Band members include: Extreme vocalist, Dave
Masud. Dave has been playing instruments since he was very young. Aside
from being the lead singer, Dave plays drums, bass and guitar.
Guitarist, Chris Fox, Chris is finishing his degree in Music
Business at Southern Oregon University.

Drummer, Chris Tufino. Chris is from Reno and also plays with a band
called Twelve Gauge Facelift there.
Bass player, Pat
Mayfield. Pat has a degree from SOU in Music
Performance. The band bounces between Ashland and Reno,
NV and perform in venues throughout Oregon, Nevada, and California.
They are influenced by other hardcore bands such as NOFX, Adolescents,
and the Circle Jerks, with whom the Vampirates played with this past
January in Reno. Five months after the band formed with
former members, Eddie Condon, and Geoff Huber in
2003, they recorded their first CD, entitled "Shitpanzimps" in a studio
that doubled as a Tofu Factory during the day. When Eddie and Geoff
moved on, the band picked up Chris Tufino and Dave Masud. The band
members migrate back and forth, functioning together in Reno as often as
possible to write songs, record, and perform. In 2004 they recorded
"Summer Ale." In the summer of 2005, they produced another CD entitled
"Muffstache," which they will be recording professionally this July.
Look for the CD release in the next couple months. A few members
produced separate projects which later came together to form Edepit and
Butthak. Besides the numerous shows they are doing, the
Vampirates are a huge hit at the Burning Man Festival where they were
voted Best Camp. They will be at Burning Man from August 25-September
